Mammography
Early Detection Saves Lives
AxcessPointe offers mammography services via in-house mammography and mobile mammography. AxcessPointe has executed an agreement with Edge Diagnostics and added Dr. Travis Henderson Radiologist to the organization to conduct screening mammograms at McGill Family Medicine, which started in January 2024.
Mammography services are available weekly at McGill Family Medicine. Mobile mammography services are available through partnership with Invision Diagnostic. Mobile mammography is available quarterly in China Grove or Sugar Creek Health Center. Mammography is the most accurate method of detecting breast cancer in its early stages.
BCCCP: Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program
BCCCP provides free or reduced-cost breast and cervical cancer screening to eligible women residing in North Carolina. Eligibility will be assessed when an appointment is made.
Eligibility: To be eligible, women must be between the ages of 40–64 for breast services and 18–64 for cervical services. They must also have a household income at or below 250% of the federal poverty level, and be uninsured or underinsured.
If the breast and/or cervical cancer screening results are abnormal, BCCCP will also assist with follow-up services and diagnostic testing. If breast and/or cervical cancer is found, patients who are eligible may apply for Breast and Cervical Medicaid to cover the cost of treatment.
